Temp gauge shows 3/4 running hot

Question

I replaced the thermostat put new antifreeze back in it an it still shows the temperature gauge running 3/4 hot but it doesn't go any further than that

Try disconnecting the Coolant Temperature Sensor and check if the gauge goes all the way down. If it does, then the problem is the sensor, otherwise, there is a problem with the gauge itself or the wire.
