On your 2000 Infiniti QX4, the Camshaft Position sensor is part of the Distributor. You cannot replace the sensor by itself, you have to replace the Distributor assembly.

Do you have any other codes besides the P0340 code? is the security light solid ON?

If the security light is solid ON, then you have a problem with the key.
