My car wasn't wanting to start the other day. After looking, it was found that I had a decent sized hole in my carbon canister. It was replaced, and codes were ran for my check engine light that was on. One code was from the Carbon Canister, and since it was fixed it was cleared. The other one was P06B8 which is an internal processor performance error with non-volatile access memory. My car was running fine last night but this morning it hesitated to start again, but does start. Does anyone know why it could be doing this?

There are a great many reasons why the motor does not show signs of life, and sometimes one problem pulls another, and it is difficult to immediately understand it. First of all, you should check: starter, generator or battery, spark plugs (spark plugs filled with gasoline, the work of which is to ignite fuel. If the elements are installed for a long time, they gradually become dirty), the fuel supply system. Another reason: the fuel hose is damaged. In this case, the car usually smells like fuel. Sometimes the fuel filter becomes heavily clogged, which ceases to be a filter element and turns into a plug. Since a car is a complex device, consisting of many elements, there can be a lot of weak points.

Other possible problems that may prevent the vehicle from starting:

  • insufficient pressure in the cylinders;
  • leakage of ignition wires;
  • faulty crankshaft, camshaft, idle, oxygen position sensors;
  • problems with the timing chain or belt;
  • malfunction of the ignition coil;
  • the fuel is trite, but you did not notice, or the indicator of its level is lying;
  • faults in the wiring (loose high voltage clamps);
  • no fuel or a breakdown in the fuel system;
  • malfunction of the security alarm system.

With what you are describing, I would suspect an issue with the fuel system. Possibly a weak fuel pump or somehow  air is getting in the fuel line.
