What would make my 06 ford fusion v6 3.0 sel when idling for a few minutes well it varies between roughly 5 to 20 mins the wrench light on the dash to come on and the check engine light also, car will automatically go into limp mode not allowing u to accelerate over about 5 mph. Then u get somewhere to pull over n depending on how long it has actually been in limp mode as to how long u have to let it sit turned off for a few minutes never been over 20mins though, but then u can start it up n all lights are off n no problems at all. ( Unless you have to sit n idle for a period of time). It seems to be getting more frequently the past couple of weeks I've noticed but everytime it happens I plug in my bluebird code reader and it seems to always pull pretty much the same codes everytime which most common ones are p1657, u0101, u0073,p1000, then a time or two it's pulled b1600,b1601, b1318,u1900,b1884,b2290, does anyone have any ideas what might be going on or advice as to where I should begin with trying to get it fixed I am completely lost n have no idea what or where to begin

DTC P1657 indicates TCM Communication link error. Controller area network (CAN) link error detected by PCM. The vehicle should have no engagements, no adaptive or self-learning strategy, limited fuel & spark. Inspect connectors at TCM & PCM for corrosion or damaged pins. Inspect wiring from TCM to PCM for open or short circuits. If OK, suspect possible faulty TCM. Corrosion on the TCM & PCM pins may also explain the intermittent odd behavior and the multiple codes. Other than that, unless the codes are not intermittent, it will be difficult to diagnose.
