I received a P0430 error code. I\'m told my Audi A6 has 2 CATS plus 4 O2 sensors. The dealer says I must replace all of them. Why must the entire system be replaced? Surely they all would not have failed. What if some other component outside of the Emission system caused the problem. I don\'t know if the dealer checked for that, but if he didn\'t, the problem could re-occur.

Vehicle: 2001 Audi A6 2.8L

For this code, at the very most you should only have to replace the bank 2 converter and then possibly the O2 sensors on bank 2. I would have that replaced and take it from there. Most of the time the converters fail due to misfires, so if the car had misfires at any point on that bank, it may have caused the problem.
