what do i do next

I replaced the cam positioning sensor and the service engine soon light came back on. Mechanic said he double checked everything recommended and everything looks fine. Said the computer may need to be reset

This could be the result of low or dirty engine oil, a bad variable timing actuator or the mechanical timing being off.
