P0300 code on 2011 Avalanche replace cam shaft and lifters

hi my truck has a rough idle, just the last two days, yesterday my engine light came on, i drover her to a repair shop, and they are saying that i need to replace my cam shaft cause it has a flat spot, and my lifters. No noise coming from the truck, just a rough idle. Is this possible?

It is possible that this has happened, however I would ask for proof it's the issue. Like maybe a compression test result or something. The code is for a random or multiple misfire. A bad cam or worn cam would usually point to the exact cylinder.
