P0446 FORD -

Question

I have had this code (p0446) reoccurring on an 05 ford f-150 5.4 L to date I have replaced the gas cap, replace the purge valve , I soaked (vinegar, sprayed with contact cleaner and loaded with dielectric grease on reassembly the connector/s @ the valve and the one just below the driver’s door (dumb place ) . I erased the code and was good for about 3 days 150 miles or so. Then it came back on. I reset and it comes right back on.

Where do I go next ?

Hi there,

The next step should be a smoke test. This will locate the leak and you won't have to spend more money on parts. If the smoke test doesn't show a problem, then chances are good it's the pressure sensor and replacement should resolve it
