I just took of the intake manifold and cleaned the runner valves bc I was getting the runner valve code. I already replaced the runner valve control selenoid, and that didn't do anything so I took off and cleaned. That code is gone, now, but today new code popped up. P0420. Never had this code before I took off the intake. Car runs great, no sputtering or anything.
The only thing that happened while working on the intake, is the oil temp sensor snapped off and is inoperable. (I ordered a new one to replace)
Any chance this is the culprit?
I have read running hi test or putting octane booster in tank will sometimes help clear this code if it's an injector issue? I can't believe the Cat all of a sudden went.
Please advise

Hi there,

There are several things to cause this code, but, more than likely you'll need a new cat converter. Here is some more info for you.
