Hello, I have a 2012, 3.5L four-wheel-drive, Toyota Highlander SE, 78kmiles.

When uphill accelerating, the car body shakes or wobbles. If I pause acceleration, the shakes disappear. It usually happens when the speed is mostly between 45 to 60miles/h. Below or above this speed, the wobbles will not occur. The check engine light is on, code P0766 is reported. But if I shift to S gear, the car drives fine, and the check engine light and fault code will disappear.

Shall I change the transmission fluid, then if it does not work, I can replace the solenoid with the valve? Or I should directly replace the solenoid?? Thanks in advance!!!

Hi there,

The code does lead to an issue with the solenoid, so yes, if changing the transmission fluid doesn't help, changing the solenoid would be the next step. Here is some more info for you regarding the code.

Thank you for your comments. Can the wobble be related with P0766?? I don't see many people concerning about the wobble issue with D solenoid.

It is possible the wobble is a result of the car not shifting into the proper gear. This might indicate there is an internal issue with the transmission as well.
