Called honda dealer and was told misfire was fixed in 2014. But i need to know can worn piston rings cause it to misfire also when i remove the spark plugs it has oil on it. I've removed them and cleaned them and inside the hole. It would run good for awhile and than the same problem all over again. Can someone please help me solve this issue once and for all. Thank you

Vehicle: 2009 honda accord v6

HI there

Worn rings can cause a misfire. Most of the time however if you have engine oil on the plug wire or spark plug boot, the issue is with the valve cover. This can also cause the rubber to deteriorate and cause the misfire. You may need new plug wires or if it's COP a new coil boot.
