What to fix/replace for code po300 on Volkswagen jetta.

Every nwo and again it will start and idle rough amd sputter while driving. But after it is driven for a bit it drives like normal again and I'm not sure what could be making this issue happen and every time it has been to a shop they tell me that it needs 1000$ or more of work on top and comes out with more issues. Please advise where I should start working

Check your grounds, check for leaking head gasket, plug mite be getting wet, also check boot and make sure its not bad and arcing out
