where is the camshaft position sensor located in 1999 mercury mountaineer v8

i'm getting the odb2 error code dtc 02 i/m no p0340 01/02 p0340 p 02/02 and need to know what to do to fix it. please speak in laymen terms since i'm a female that don't know much about cars

The cam sensor is mounted to the top of the old distributor shaft. Instead of using a distributor on this model they use the cam sensor. The cam sensor must be syncronized when it's replaced. This does require special tools.
