Car didnt pass smog due to bad 02 sensors that have been replaced. I am not sure if theres something else wrong with the vehicle or if my 02 sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 2) has a some type of false contact due to the connection not making a click sound when joined together. I hope its nothing too complex, both sensors are new and seem to be the right ones. Hopefully you guys know of something that can be done (perhaps cleaning the plastic connectors, or ultimately replacing the whole sensor). thank you

Vehicle: 2000, Mitsubishi, Galant, v6

Hi there

Depending on what code is being stored, many times you can get an O2 sensor code due to some other issue with the engine. If it's running to rich or to lean for example, you might get an O2 sensor code, even though it's not the problem. The only time a code is specific to the O2 sensor in most cases is when the heater circuit fails. So, without the code can't be sure what the problem is, but there are other possible causes for most O2 sensor codes.
