SUBJECT: MIL (SERVICE ENGINE SOON Lamp) On with Only DTC P0741 in PCM Memory (Replace TCC Actuator or Input Shaft Converter O - Ring Seal)
MODELS AFFECTED: 1996-1997 Saturns equipped with MP6/MP7 automatic transaxles
CONDITION: The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) (SERVICE ENGINE SOON telltale lamp) On with only DTC P0741 (Transaxle TCC Actuator - No TCC) in PCM memory. This condition frequently occurs at low mileage (less than 1600 km [1000 miles]).
CAUSE: This condition may be caused by a malfunctioning TCC actuator or a damaged input shaft converter O-ring seal.
CORRECTION: When diagnosing DTC P0741, refer to the following procedure.
