2009 Ford Fusion P2709 code

2.4l 4 cyl engine. persistent p2709. Transmission replaced twice. Accompanied by check engine and intermittent "wrench" lite. Hard shift in reverse plus jerking at top end of range. Less noticable with cruise control on. Throttle body has been cleaned.

P2709 is the SSF solenoid circuit failure, when it comes to solenoid this solenoid can burn its driver in the TCM, This may have happened, and there is not all gears present
