I have a 05 Lexus IS300 with an automatic with180k miles on it. The car has recently been behaving differently. During acceleration & cruising speed the car's pedal would become soft and the car would lose its momentum. I did not have any check engine lights come up. This is all the in low rpm (2000 - 3500). The best way to describe it is when a transmission is slipping. I would put the car in manual mode and shift it myself. After a few days finally I lost all pedal and the engine check light came on. The car was hooked up to a computer and code p-2138 came up. I am reading the forums that say it's the throttle position sensor. Some people have said in the forums that even after replacing the TPS sensor the problem was still there. I am also finding articles saying that it's the pedal position sensor. Shoud I replace both sensors or could my issue be even worse a transmission going?
