When accelerater is pressed there is no response

Car losses speed n when you press on gas pedal there is no response.if you are going up hill you lose speed and there is no response when you step on pedal..the passing gear doesn't kick in either..you just can't gain speed

This can be a variety of reason for this, There has to be a code that is set whether it is in the pending code or history, you may have a problem with the CVT transmission belt slipping or the throttle body. If this incident is occurring you will set a input speed sensor code which is a  transmission code, Those codes are needed to determine if it mechanical or reprogram of the CVT transmission
