P1626 is a antitheft code, what this would do is start and stall the truck, there would be no chance for you to even put the vehicle is gear. P1787 is for the transmission gear fault code. U1000 truck would not be able start up. and if you did start it up U1000 will just be a history code.Start with P1626 take the short route to determine if the starting and putting in gear is with P1626. at the ignition key cylinder is 3 color wires. red/white.. Yellow.. Black. with the truck running you cut enough room for a wire repair, as the truck is running cut the yellow wire (do not get this mixed with the airbag wire) make sure not to short the wire as you do this running. The anti-theft will be on. now test the vehicle out by putting it in gear. if this resolve the problem you know that the problem is with the ant-theft
