06 maxima wont start cranks but dont come on is it the fuel level sensor?

I bought a new crankshaft sensor and my car still won't start the fuel pump makes a small sound then goes quiet

The code is for the fuel level sensor, however that won't usually prevent the car from starting. Unless you are out of gas and don't know it. I would check the security light first. If it's on solid then the car is immobilized. If the light isn't solid, then check for fuel and spark.
