How many O2 sensors on 4 cyl VW Passat enginer

Question

Getting code P0171 on left hand drive 2008 VW Passat indicating it is the O2 sensor on Bank 1. Need to know location of Bank 1 and number of O2 sensors on that bank.

Since you vehicle has 4 cylinders, there are 2 Oxygen (O2) sensors. A front and rear sensor. The front sensor is attached to the exhaust manifold and the rear sensor is on the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter.
