code 1740 and 442 dont know what to do

Code 1740 on 2001 dodge ram 1500. It feels like it bogs and truck slows down shop says needs new transmission but it doesn't do this constantly and they said is shows TCM problem. Also with code 442 evap canister leak i just replaces the evap leak detection pump 3 days ago and truck drove like a dream for about 8 hrs then engine light came back on giving the same two codes can you help me with this I think the shop just wants to make money
