the suzuki was taken to oreilly auto parts store and the scanner was put on it because the service engine soon came on again. The spare plugs are new, the oil has been changed and it has a new air filter. A new alternator has just been put on and the battery is only 2 years old. P0741 was the code that the scanner showed. The staff at the shop told me to google search and tell them what I needed so I hope you can help so I can purchase parts needed to stop the engine from backfiring when it starts and stop the service engine light from coming on.

P0741 TCC lock up solenoid valve performance or stuck off

This is not going to cause a backfire condition, this is like coasting down the  highway and stepping on the brake not enough to stop the vehicle just enough to turn the brake light on, when you do that the TCC disengages. For your type of vehicle having a backfire reminds me of the problem that was with the fuel pressure regulator they even recalled it. So a simple check on the fuel pressure regulator disconnect that  vacuum hose if fuel seeps out you replace the fuel pressure regulator. or you contact the dealer and check to see if the recall is still in effect.
