My car kia rio 2010 indicates a P0118 as the current fault and also indicates a pending P0745 and P00775 as pending faults. At times, when I shift into drive after remaining idle, eg. at the traffic lights, I need to step more on the accelerator and it drives off very slowly. My mechanic indicates that I would have to replace my coolant sensor and change my control board as well. Not too sure about this information. Please help...

Hi there

The P0118 is for the coolant temp sensor. If the car is full of coolant then the temp sensor should be replaced to resolve the problem. As for the pending codes, I would take care of the coolant temp sensor, then drive the car and see if the pending codes return. I would also check the transmission fluid level as low fluid could cause those codes.
