My 2013 Nissan Altima keeps throwing the P2097 code. The first time it happened i bought a new oxygen sensor, the check engine light was off for a little over two months and until one day it came back on. Same exact code so i exchanged the sensor i just bought for a brand new one just by chance the first one was defective. By the time I was able to do that i was driving around with checkl engine light on for two weeks. I picked up the part once it came in and on the way to our shop to change it the check engine light just disappeared. Just to be on the safe side we put the newer sensor in but now almost two months later check engine light is back on and its throwing the same code.

P2097 Post catalyst to rich, what would cause this., the timing for it just to set if the sensor is loose, would do that , exhaust leak and vacuum leak that would set a P2097 almost the same day, Try this it may help add a fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank.
