P0420 is a code from my 2002 buick le saber coustom can you tell me what it is please

My buick ac stopped getting clod and every once in awhile it will run hot my cooling fans dont wirk right i put a code reader on it and my obd2 reader gave me P0420

Hi there

This code is for a problem with the catalytic converter on bank 1. This won't affect the air conditioning or the cooling fans. The cooling fans not working will affect the air conditioning however. If the freon isn't cooled it will build up to much pressure and the pressure switch will turn it off.
