The problem happens when you try to start the engine with a damaged key or a key that has not been programmed into the vehicle. Now you must reset the system and try to start the engine with a known-good and programmed key. You could try resetting the system by disconnecting the car battery for about 30 minutes or with an OBDII scanner.
