I have an 03 Hyundai Accent. I recently started to hear noise coming from around my engine. I feared an exhaust leak. When the check engine light finally came on, I took it to AutoZone for a diagnostic test which yielded the code p0133 - bank 1 oxygen sensor responding slowly and fuel running too rich or too lean. This could have been a leak in the exhaust manifold so for the past few days I have been struggling to open the manifold cover bounded by rusted and torqued bolts. I recently began to think, however, could a faulty oxygen sensor cause this issue? I feel that it could because if there is a poor signal between the o2 sensor and the ECM that could create an imbalance in the air-fuel ratio which, sensibly, would cause a noise and low power in acceleration. What do you think?

HI there

IF the exhaust manifold is leaking, then it's going to throw an O2 sensor code Sadly it's not the other way around. If it's not leaking, then the sensor itself is the likely issue.
