P0127 NISSAN - Intake Air Temperature Too High

The Intake temperature sensor should not cause the catalytic converter to go bad. It doesn't make sense to replaced the catalytic if you have a P0127 code. You probably just have a problem with the sensor. On your 2004 Nissan Maxima, the IAT sensor is part of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. You should start by cleaning the sensor.
