smoke test vent valve lets out smoke is it bad? P0442

Evap system code P0442 small leak detected ran smoke test and the only leak was the vent valve on the canister. key off.

You would have to close it manually, it is normally open. Remove it from the canister and add power and ground to it. If it closes then it should be fine. If you don't hear a clicking sound or see it close then it's bad.
