Code p1505

Question

2000 kia sportage 2.0 AT. Changed engine. It runs great but have this code, also it won't go in high gear and the D gear indicator light does not light up but all the rest do. I can't find information on it. I can ohm the circuits but I don't know what the values are supposed to be.

This code that you have is for the idle air control where its output voltage is low, If the idle is high you do not have a working idle air control. As for the transmission concern , when the vehicle gear selector is in in drive gear  , there is only one power wire that goes into the transmission range switch. as you put in gear power is set to the instrument cluster as to what gear you are in, so this would be a problem in the instrument panel light bulb. You have a separate problem with the transmission, because there was engine change,  a close inspection with ground wire. that would be the first inspection, this code P1505 and the "D indicator has nothing to do with the transmission shifting problem
