I changed my spark plugs upon completion the initial starting of the car It idled very rough.I turned car off and checked plug wires connections .Wires were all good so I started car again idle appeared normal and it ran and drove fine but it displayed coolant temp xXx °F and needle on the temp gauge pegged in the red.I don't believe that it is actually over heating when I started the car again after it had sat over night the same display appeared and needle jumped in the red instantly.I don't know how to reset computer or if need be what part to replace.

P0118 Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit high input

Circuit high input are condition where there is a disconnection of that sensor , if you disconnected the engine coolant temperature sensor it not going to cause a overheating condition, the ECM will see the engine temperature as -40 degrees. Check the radiator level you could be very low

 Here the coolant temperature senor , check the harness to see if it somehow shorted together ,
