The output shaft speed sensor on my 97 zj keeps failing. Each time I replace it, it drives good for a little while then fails again and the check engine light comes back on and it starts shifting abnormally. I've replaced the sensor 4 times now and just replaced the PCM and sensor today. Took it for a drive and was working great then the sensor failed again. What could be causing it to continuously burn out?

The output transmission sensor also serves as the vehicle speed sensor, this sensor produces its own signal , for this to burn out there has to be a wire touching each other, your going to have open the convolution tube  look especially where there is transmission fluid leak there and where there is a possible zip tie , what happens is these wire tend to wire rot hopefully that would be it.
