Code seems to have no pattern  not time , number of starts , distance etc. . will usually shut off after several starts . p1681 came on once and since erased has not returned , neither has the p0340. What are the possibilities ? Any help would be appreciated.

P1681 No fuel level BUS message

P0340 Camshaft position sensor

You have a igntion short, neither of these code would cause the engine to shut down. A igntion short would set a P1681 and a engine stall will set a P0340. in the engine fuse relay box what is listed as IGN, it is that fuse that would open , it gives power to the horn and the fuel pump/ level. See if you can duplicate the problem turn the wheel and honk the horn there would have to inspect further for the short. make sure you have extra fuses for the IGN. This type of problem was encountered on a Chrysler intrepid. the only code there was P1681 and on the dash a message NO BUSS. the IGN fuse was open . the IGN fuse replaced as for the cause of  the open fuse, customer could not persue it more.
