If the fuel injector did not atomize properly you would set a misfire code. You would also not only set a misfire for that cylinder but you would have a P0300. A lean code mean there is more air than the fuel. This is more a vacuum leak . A Chevy 3.5 has a MAF (mass air flow) and a MAP (manifold absolute pressure ) sensor.
Here the MAF sensor, from the MAF sensor if there is a vacuum leak that gets past the MAF such as the MAF air duct if having rips or is torn this would set a lean code condition
This engine has a MAP sensor also , check it here this MAP sensor is lightly tug ( this engine had a P0171 with trouble accelerating and a TPS and MAF sensor code)
Here the MAP sensor was found to be faulty, a slight tug on this sensor should not cause it to break. The fix for the Lean code and the MAF sensor code with the TPS code was caused by a faulty MAP sensor.
