2 months ago we had the oil changed on this car, and the service center left the oil cap off. We drove around for 2 days before realizing it. The service center replaced the cap, cleaned the engine and gave us some free oil changes- but I worried about long term damage or side effects. Today, I took it in because the check engine light came on and they told me this was the code and the 'Camshaft position actuator exhaust solenoid valve" needs to be replaced. Error code is P0014. Could the oil cap issue be the cause?

P0014 exhaust camshaft system performance
No this will not cause a P0014, a missing oil cap can cause a lean code, Missing oil cap to broken dips tick that can sat a actuator codes only set on European engine, not a Domestic or Asian engine, it very advisable you replace the actuator solenoid in pair , the exhaust and intake side
