WEll driving out truck will loss speedo and truck will go in to neutral and then stop the truck put in park and back two drive and wont happen again for almost 2 weeks at a time, has replaced the vss sensor, ignition switch and tumbler, we are at a loss as to what it is. other then rplace the vss sensor pig tail.

The speedometer uses a stepper motor these always go out and fail. you can make a successful business replacing stepper motor. When you replaced the VSS was there a lot of metal saving as you pulled it out. The reason this is mentioned this transmission 4x4 tends to loose its transmission fluid. and taking out the function of the VSS. Doing a health of the module is fine , Check for any "U: code that may be set if you loose communication with the instrument panel it sets a U0155 code. You would need to check for code that are set "This is more mechanical condition with the transmission You can also have the dealer check the ECM for contamination , this was recently a Recall that is still ineffect
