When you set a engine code, the ECM job is to look for open circuit short circuit and ground, this is already tested, Here the problem P0744 is very rarely a electrical problem it is mostly set due to a mechanical condition with the transmission. If it is a electrical problem you can check and make sure the dropping resistor is in place , it is located on the right front shock tower area. It is to you advantage the control valve be replaced , the valve there they tend to stick, Depending on the transmission you need to ensure there is no shudder when there is a gear change, P0744 this can also set when there is a torque convertor that is a problem also.
