I need to have my 1998 Ford Mustang Smogged but the Check engine light is on and its supose to be due to a  p0443 or p1443  code ( I'm told both codes mean the samething )

The Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid ?  If so could someone please tell me where its located and how to fix it?

Both codes are the same , when this code occurs it means incorrect purge flow, especialy on a Ford at this year what commonly found is the purge hose is ruptured , or bloated , you can use a emission hose or vacuum hose , just put a better one on. The solenoid is not usually faulty. if this purge hose is melted away you may expect other emission hose to be the same

The purge is in this area,

That the problem when it comes to the Mustang, some of the canister is at the front apron you just go underneath at the front. and some  you do have to take out the apron. NOT THE FENDER. Your best bet is start where the purge solenoid is at if that hose is fine then work you way towards the canister. Take this as driving, when you first drove you were not good at it, but time after time you become a professional. A professional is someone who does the same thing over and over again. they don't have a life of course who does

Okay and thanks for the info  and for replying back to me :D   Now today they are telling me that the problem isn't anything to do with what they said before ..That now the trouble code P0443 is  The Evap Control Purge Control Valve Circiut Malfuntion and its something to do with the fuel tank and runs to behind the battery and This guy says he can fix it for $985.00 which is a bit too much so... I guess that I'm going to have to start walking and taking the bus to work and everywhere else . I think maybe I need to move to a state that doesn't bother with smog test ...

The canister purge valve is easier, you replace the valve, the ECM looks for open circuit short circuit, grounds and rationality, because when you set this code the ECM see the purge valve as not completing the function either from a short in the purge valve or a open circuit , Try this where the fuel tank fill hose is , as it goes into the fuel tank, that area tends have a leak there, If you have a raw fuel smell when you in the car with the window rolled up you can be sure the fuel fill hose has a leak at its seal. If this is the case you replace the fuel tank fill hose seal.and leave the purge code alone. The problem that you may encounter is one code after another. P0443 because the ECM see a open or incomplete command > The ECM can suspend other code from appearing until P0443 is satisfied.
