Getting a P0717. Replaced the Trans speed sensor, still getting code P0717. I can reset the code when the car is cold and it comes right back on. After I drive about 5 miles and reset the code it stays off.

P0717 Input speed sensor
This is for the input speed sensor which is sensor NT, there the other sensor NC which is the output speed sensor, when P0717 is set its pulse is not outputted, This sensor is a continuously monitored, its output is slow when the engine is cold, , when the engine is warmed up the input should be the same as the engine RPM. The only way to do this is with a scan tool that can display the NT data if it show 0 when driving you have a open circuit. When you drive the vehicle and the NT or input show less than 300 RPM you have a problem either with the sensor or its circuit , or ECM.
