Could a loose connection at the cam position sensor cause a p1014 code

I had the cam seal replaced and the sensor had to be removed in order to replace the seal

Unfortunately No. this is a incorrect signal, the PCM is reading the signal the PCM set this code at start up and see it incorrect position. if you had a intermittent signal the camshaft signal will set a code for camshaft signal high.
