So my girlfriend had a p0299 code pop up on her 2012 chevy cruze and it's supposed to be related to an underboost of the turbo however her car doesn't have a turbo? Also, the code was listed as permanent when we read it with the obd reader. Anything I should be concerned about or is this just a phantom code?

You should be concerned there a reason the CK ENG LT is on. The chevy Cruze that has no turbo is the 1.8 engine size. . If the engine size is a 1.4 you have turbo. The way a code reader works. stored in the memory of the scan tool is a list of library provided the code reader is updated. When the code reader is connected to the DLC connector, it matches a communication dialog, which is the speed, Once its connected the code reader trys to match the code that is set in its library and give you its stored code. So with all this its better that you use another san tool. Also P0299 on non turbo engine are seen as a intake air temperature sensor.
