P0014 Exhaust camshaft position (CMP) system performance

This code is for the exhaust camshaft solenoid. The fix is usually straight forward, and it is adviseable to replace both camshaft solenoid in pair the , intake and exhaust, But there is a intermittent loss of the TACH signal, a faulty camshaft solenoid is not going to cause the TACH to be intermittent one area  that you need to rule out is the DLC (diagnostic link connector) there can not be anything attached to it , , there are monitoring device for some  insurance or a maintance tracking device, P0014 should not cause the TACH to be loss. intermittently.
