catalytic converter on 2010 honda crv need to be change why

I have a code P0420 honda dealer tell me my catalyst converter need to be changed on my 2010 honda CR-V with only 097799 kilometers. Is that normal and what cause that

Usually if there is a rich fuel mixture it can damage the converter. Lack of scheduled maintenance, fuel additives can also do some damage. Occasionally a bad front or rear O2 sensor can cause the code, but I would assume they have been ruled out.
