P2196 and P2198 these code are both rich command trying to correct for a overly lean condition. The throttle body recall . Get that out of the way, The engine can stall , The worse condition of the throttle body is when the ECM commands a FMEM (failure mode effect management ) this is a limp home mode with limited throttle .. All vehicle are built by robots, each year make and model inherits a pattern failure. and this is where TSB are necessary part of repair, beside the Recall which is the priory the TSB for lean evap code may have n ot been posted to you prior response, should of had 2 one a recall and the other for the lean code here the lean code TSB. This is the purge valve which is commonly seen even on the Mazda when you do a tight turn you may be able feel a slight misfire event occurring, And NO there is NO balancing out the situation .The CK ENG LT will return. Unfortunately it not a Recall.

This article supersedes TSB 11-11-28 to update the Title, Issue Statement, vehicle model lines, Service Procedure and Part List.
ISSUE Some 2009-2011 Escape, Mariner, 2010-2011 Fusion, Milan and 2011 MKZ vehicles built on or before 3/4/2011 may exhibit a leaking or stuck under hood evaporative emission purge valve. This fault will turn on the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P144A, P2196, P2198 and/or P1A0C.
ACTION Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
