Turbocharger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit DTC P0045 False Code Detection

^	2007-2010MY Isuzu N-Series
^	2007-2010MY GMC/Chevrolet W-Series Equipped with Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), and Vehicle Production Date Prior to March 30, 2009

This bulletin supersedes Service Bulletin SB08-J-001. This bulletin is being revised to update Model Years and Parts Information. Please discard previous bulletin SB08-J-001.

CONDITION

Some customers may comment that the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) light is on and vehicle is in reduced power mode.

CAUSE

The Variable Nozzle Turbocharger (VNT) Control Unit (Module) may have detected a false nozzle position error and set DTC P0045. The setting criteria for DTC P0045 were too strict. As a result, the control unit may detect a false nozzle position and set this DTC.

CORRECTION

Refer to the Service Manual and follow the diagnostic procedure. If no other system faults can be identified, replace the Turbocharger Control Unit (Module).
