Wasnt getting any codes before I replaced the distributor. Since I did, I'm getting a P0016 code. Cam and crank (crank was relearned) position sensors are brand new-changed all at the same time. Truck runs great but getting that code. Every once in a while it's hard to start or starts rough. I restart and it starts fine. Any ideas? Timing chain is perfect and in alignment too. Could the distributor be off? The rotor lines up with the 6 and the engine idles perfect but the code still comes up even after I erase.

P0016 cam to crank variation
You can not do a CKP relearn when there a code pending, to set this code your are either one tooth advance or retard. The CMP sensor which is in the distributor has to be seated correctly, if that is done and your sure the installation is correct, P0016 your one tooth off, if the engine was disturb you need to reindex, be careful the harmonic balancer being vulcanized may have slipped out of position so that has to be checked.. If your harmonic is out of position remove sparkplug cylinder one and bring that piston to its compression mark the harmonic position. turn by hand the crankpulley and bring the piston to its upper most position then index it. P0016 your not going to have a smooth idle. when in gear it rough.
