P0404 EGR position sensor  rationality

This is usually just the EGR itself . On the EGR valve there is a position sensor that the ECM check its opening reference. This code set if the EGR position is not where it is expected to be. mostly set when there is a fault with EGR. If the EGR has been replace and this code has reset , the MAP sensor or coolant temperature sensor either of these sensor out of range will set the EGR code only. with no other code, you need the freeze frame or better the data stream to exact the cause for the code to set.
