Can a P0171 code cause the Brake fault light to flash on a 2014 Subaru Outback?

I get an infrequent lean condition left bank (P0171) code on my 2014 Subaru Outback.  At the same time I get a flashing Brake fault light and the cruise control indicator starts flashing.  How is a lean engine condition related to the cruise and brake faults?  Or is it the other way around?

HI there

This code and the check engine light will cause the cruise and brake lights to flash. Its a default put in by subaru and they will actually come on simply because the check engine light is on.
