P0175 FORD -

Question

I have both codes showing a 172 and 175 both banks are reading too rich, in a 2002 Taurus fles fuel 3.0 engine. What would bw the most likely problem? The plugs are new and the O2 sensors are only a year old.

Hi there,

This code could be the result of a bad fuel pressure regulator, or a bad mass air flow sensor. I would also look at the engine coolant temp sensor. Anything that may cause the engine to run rich. Any of these 3 items will affect both banks of the engine. This will usually eliminate the fuel injectors or the O2 sensors as the culprits.
